This Newly Crafted Awasi is Your Retreat at Iguazú Falls

Located just downstream from one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Iguazú Falls, this uncharted outpost will take your breath away

Opened in early 2018, Awasi Iguazú Falls is the newest sister property to the incredible Awasi Atacama and Awasi Patagonia. Its 14 stilted villas perch high in the jungle, each offering extreme privacy beneath the shade of palm fronds and vines that cascade down onto your patio and plunge pool. Bonus: one especially grand and spacious villa is perfect for hosting a larger group or if you’re traveling with kids in tow (ages ten and up, please). And while there is plenty to do in the Misiones Province aside from exploring the waterfalls, undoubtedly you’ll want to take a closer look at this amazing spectacle.

Just 15 minutes away from your base camp, Iguazú Falls divides the nations of Argentina and Brazil here. At a mile and a half across, these falls make up the largest waterfall system in the world. Explore them and surrounding areas with renowned biologists who will dive deep into the local landscape and history, flora, and fauna to unearth the best of the Misiones Province far beyond just the waterfalls. Visit archaeological sites, trek through the jungle, spy for exotic birds, take a boat ride for a sunset picnic, and much more. Feel like crafting your own adventure? Just like at other Awasi properties, you’re free to do so with the use of your very own private guide and vehicle.

"The legend goes that a deity set his sights on marrying a beautiful local maiden called Naipí. Sadly for the god, his love was not reciprocated, and the young woman fled in a canoe with her mortal lover, Tarobá. Angry beyond all measure, the god decided to chop up the River Iguazú, creating multiple waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall."
